If you’re tired of those little lines of sunlight invading your room, you should consider purchasing or making your own blackout roller blinds. Roller blinds provide total darkness; they can ensure that your room will be, not only completely dark, but completely private.
You may have noticed that traditional slatted blinds do not provide complete privacy. Often times, if you are close enough to the window, it is possible to see through the tiny spaces that are left between each panel. This problem of privacy is further exacerbated when the panels are broken or bent, which is very common. Slatted blinds are not nearly as durable as blackout roller blinds are.
Roller blinds are made of much more durable materials. If you would like your blinds to be very easy to clean, you may choose to use blinds made of vinyl. Cloth can also be used, but you cannot simply wipe the cloth clean like you would be able to with a vinyl covering.
While slat window covers are very common and popular, they are certainly not unique. It is very simple to create a cover for your window out of any material, and it is very easy to find fabrics that will look great and compliment your already existing home decor. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to be artistically adept; creating the cover is as simple as getting the fabric to the right size and hanging it in front of your window. If you want your blackout roller blinds to be more complicated than that, you certainly can create a more elaborate design.
While traditional blinds may work fine for most of the windows in your home, blackout roller blinds might be just what you need for rooms that get too much light. If you need to cool down a room, and you want to do it with style, consider buying or making your own roller blinds!
